Changes that could be made to my study programme

Changes that could be made to my study programme

Hello everyone, today I will talk about the changes I could make in my studies program.
I am currently studying chemistry and pharmacy at the University of Chile, the formal length of the degree is 5 and a half years, but we all know that we actually took more than 5 and a half years.

Within the program of studies I have to take various scientific fields, such as biology, physics, mathematics, and of course a lot of chemistry, as well as introductory branches of the career. Then come the most specialized branches of pharmacology and it becomes more complex as the years progress.

Resultado de imagen para voleibolWe also have to take general training courses (CFG). I find that these courses are good because they are out of the routine, they can be sporting, cultural, among other topics. For example, I have taken volleyball and a course to be integral tutors (TIP), which is a program of the university to help the freshmen to pass their classes. The problem is that the courses are entertaining in other faculties and are far away, if I could improve something in this faculty is the largest variety of CFG and flexible hours.

Resultado de imagen para carga academica

I find that the career demands a lot of time and academic load, we have a very structured program, if we do not follow it the duration of the career is prolonged, we have very heavy and difficult courses together and many must take the decision to take fewer courses or simply fail them. I would change the structure of the program with semesters with a little less load, to really enjoy the stay in the university and without so much pressure, there is nothing better than having the time necessary to study and enjoy university life. After all we are here because we like what we study.
As for the infrastructure, we need a casino where to have lunch, it is very uncomfortable not to have it, and because of the technology, it is good, we have air conditioning, equipped laboratories and that is enough.
Finally, because of the teaching methods, I would like them to improve the English program, it could be more interactive in order to expand the vocabulary and improve the pronunciation, I think that English is important and that it is concordant with the students' time, since We have a lot of academic load.

Personal Opinion

Personal Opinion.

Hello everyone, today i will talk about my personal opinion of four topics. These are: "Tattoos"; "legalizing marijuana"; Chilean tradition called "mechoneo"and "legalized abortion in some cases".

I will start with the tattoos:

-Tattoos:
tattoo GIF
I thinks that is personal choice get a tattoo. I would like to get a tattoo. But it's really important choose a good place and that meets sanitary requirements. Because it can be very dangerous. The implements must be sterilized. Also you must think very well since it's something that will accompany you for life and have enough money since a nice tattoo is expensive.

-Legalizing marijuana:
the simpsons weed GIF
I think the consumption of marijuana is very personal. I think it's not bad. Because its consumption should not be in excess. Many studies say that the consumption of marijuana should be after 21 years old. Because say that increases the risk of psychosis by 40% and after that age you have completely developed the brain. So I agree with the legalized marijuana but also to include education on this. And with respect to medicinal use is very much in accordance with its legalization.

-Chilean tradition called "mechoneo":
At this moment it is a complicated topic because it is cataloged like bullying. But in my university and in my career which is Chemistry and Pharmacy in 2017, I was "mechoneada" by my own will. It was fun but everything was with respect and volunteer and the final reward was a party. I think that it's a healthy activity but without exceeding.

-Legalized abortion in some cases:
Resultado de imagen para aborto libreI thinks that is a very delicate topic because depends on the situation in which the mother is. I agree with the legalized abortion in all cases, but is the decision of each one. Anyone can not force anyone to carry such responsibility without sex education that we should have in the school or in the family.

My Favorite Food

My Favorite Food.

Hello everyone, today I will talk about my favorite food. The food is a must in my life.

lasagna GIF by Shaking Food GIFsThe food that I like the most is my mom's lasagna. I say of my mom because I have not tried a better one. In general I like the salty food. I like it a lot because its texture with the white sauce and tomato sauce is delicious. The problem in that cooking it is a lot of work and my mom does it only when mi brothers come to visit us and I've tried it in a restaurant but it's not the same home love is missing.

The last time I tried it was October of this year when my sister came to Santiago. I helped my mom to cook especially the preparation of the white source. I could cook a lasagna but it would not be the same. I don't think I cook so well.

dogs omg GIF by CheezburgerFor the sweet part I love raspberries too much in their variety of desserts, they are good with everything. I prefer cook desserts that others food in general.  I like much more to prepare sweet dishes than salty. My favorite desserts is raspberry cheesecake. My mom used to make many desserts, but she got bored and now I just have to do them myself. I prefer to buy one prepared than to do out myself.

I would like to learn to cook better and be able to vary with new dishes.

A post-graduate course I might do.

A post-graduate course I might do.

Hello everyone, today I will talk about a possible post-graduate I can do in the future. I wanted to study biochemistry, I liked the area very much, but I wasn't sure. Anyway, I like some areas of study of biochemistry, and in this faculty, you can do postgraduate courses according to areas.

I would like to make a master's degree in clinical biochemistry, I feel that chemistry and pharmacy and clinical biochemistry are very related, since the objective is to provide information for the prevention, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of diseases and from these obtain a pharmacological treatment. These two areas together can allow me to work and research better about clinical pharmacology, which is something I consider a challenge.

I would like to do a postgraduate degree at the University of Chile, but it would also be good to have the opportunity to do a semester abroad, with a scholarship at a university with an agreement, as for example in Spain or Germany.

Resultado de imagen para posgrado quimica y farmacia clinicaIn general, the postgraduate programs have a more flexible schedule and courses, in case of being working together with the magister, I would like to have presencial and online classes

With this postgraduate I could feel satisfied and after this I would like to dedicate my work to the help of the community.

My Future Job

Possible future work.

Hello everyone, I will tell you about my future job (for the time being) as it may change, I still have a lot to learn and I may change my mind. At the moment the work of my future is about my future profession, which is chemistry and pharmacy.
Resultado de imagen para farmaceutico clinico

There are so many areas that it's difficult for me to choose only one, so I will talk about what I would like to do.

Resultado de imagen para farmaceutico clinicoThe areas that I like are the hospital pharmacy, forensic, research but I love it and I'm very attracted to the clinical pharmacy. I am not studying any specialty at this time but in the future I would like to study the specialty of clinical pharmacy. I find it a very challenging area, difficult, since you must study a lot during your whole life. I would have to work in closed places inside hospitals or clinics, in laboratories, even with patients, especially patients in extreme gravity who need pharmaceutical advice.

This work would also allow me to travel abroad, through new studies, analyzes or science congresses and that seems fabulous to me, he has always wanted to travel abroad to study some postgraduate. The salary is something of second importance but I imagine that it would gain well to live comfortably

To study this work I imagine that I would need a lot of time, patience and perseverance, since it's a very difficult area that changes and evolves over time, every day there are more complex illnesses, new treatments to apply and it's a challenge for me. I would love to be able to analyze cases, discover new treatments for new diseases, and I'm interested in the case of children, where they have complex diseases recognized as adults, and there are no corresponding doses for them or correct techniques to administer the treatments, so it could help improve people and save lives.

Things I Hate and like about University, career.

Things I Hate and like about University, career.

Hello everybody, today I will talk about things I hate and like about Chemistry and Farmacy and the University of Chile. I will start with the negative things.

i dont like it despicable me 3 GIFAbout Chemistry and Farmacy. The options for choose courses of CFG (general training courses) they have little variety and in limited schedules that don't fit with the free time schedules. We always have a problem with taking courses on the platform "U Campus". Also We always have problems with the testing date and with the use of rooms. There could be better organization.

About the University. I hate things about infrastructure for example we don't have our own diner for lunch. We always have to fight for tables in the yard. A possible solution would be to have a bigger diner and more tables to eat.

Another thing that I don't like is the excessive bureaucracy that there is for EVERYTHING. About the excessive bureaucracy I had problems because to apply for something you must go through many permits.I participate in an organization of students that disseminate science and for the "Day of Science were a lot permits and requests. Its a lot...

Now the positive thing that is the best are many things. I am study the career that I like in the place I wanted. The university have the public focus that I like. It has a variety of profiles where you can share with other social realities. The university has very good prestige and political awareness. It has many green places and shade to relax in free time. among other things that make up for the negative.

Hachikō

                                 Hachikō

Hachiko.JPGHello everybody, today I will talk about a movie that I love it called "Hachiko". Is't the saddest movie that I've seen. The film tells of an ancient Japanese story, a dog named Hachiko, a Japanese Akita dog, waiting for its owner at the train station for a long time waiting for him to return. It is a dramatic film, American of the year 2009, is an updated version of the original movie of the year 1987.

I saw the movie in 2014, when I was 17, I was very excited to see it, I cried almost during the whole movie.

dog GIFThe story start when Hachiko was a puppy, and the cage where Hachiko used to go falls, getting lost in the train station, where the music teacher Parker Wilson (interpreted by Richard Gere) finds it and decides to adopt it. They form a beautiful link.

Hachiko went every day to look for his owner at the train station, until one day his master did'nt return. Peter Wilson dies from cardiac arrest in classes. Hachiko awaits his owner until his death, hoping that his duel will return.

hachiko a dogs story dog GIFIt's very exciting the link they managed to form, how faithful was Hachiko to it's owner and the love they formed. It's a very exciting movie and the story that really happened.

I recommend seeing her with handkerchiefs in her hand.

A special summer with my family

The Best Holidays  in 2018

This year I fulfilled one of my dreams, with my parents I met the Marble Cathedral, thanks to the fact that my sister went to live in Puerto Aysén two years ago. The travel was during one month and lasted four days in car, we need climb four ferries. It was really exhausting. The weather was good, some days it was raining but others with sun and a lot of heat.

Everything was a beautiful place, where I looked, I found something interesting to photograph. What I remember most is the sound of Chucao singing, it's a bird characteristic of Patagonia, I also remember eating lots of Calafates, a small fruit from there like cranberries.

The whole landscape was very green, surrounded by huge high hills, was the characteristic of Aysén. I met many places, such as Bahía Acantilada, Lake Riesco, Coyhaique, Puerto Río Tranquilo, Puerto Cisnes, among others. And the most important thing is that I really enjoyed my little nephews, since they live very far away and we see them very little during the year, I really miss them a lot.

It was a beautiful trip, I hope to return the next vacation to see my sister and my nephews.

My experience writing blogs!

My experience writing blogs!

Hello everyone again, today we go with the post ten, which consists of telling my experience writing blogs. The truth is that I have always found English difficult, it's a real challenge to write in another language and on a little difficult topics, like thinking about the future, which is very ambiguous and difficult to think. Many times I had no creativity and it was complicated .

Resultado de imagen para escritura dibujo animadoAnyway, I feel that it is a very good activity to practice writing, although in my case I always needed a lot of help. In general, I feel that I have improved my writing a bit, anyway I don't feel ready to write without the help of a dictionary, there are many words that I have not yet internalized and grammars rules that I still do not use well. I feel it was very funny, I was able to express what I wanted, put funny images and make this blog an entertaining space.

I don't have clarity about what I would like to include in the future, but I would look for more friendly writing topics with what is happening now, so that they can be informed and at the same time practice. For the future I would like to expand the blog topics, I would like to talk about other things as well, such as about some hobby, some funny experience among others.

Resultado de imagen para escritura gifFinally I appreciate the opportunity to live this experience as blogging, it has been useful in the field of learning in English and it has been fun this semester. bye!

About when I learned to drive...

About when I learned to drive.

Hello again, I will talk about how and when I learned to drive. first I will tell you that my father is very machist, he never wanted to teach me to drive, instead my brother taught him to drive when he was 14 years old. For this reason, I decided to learn on my own. My brother helped me with the payment.

Resultado de imagen para mujer al volante
I always wanted to learn to drive, my limitation is that I was a bit afraid, but due to what people said, there is always talk about women driving badly. Wanted to know what it felt like, if it was difficult, to be able to be independent in the future and gain experience from a young age. I dared and I enrolled in a driving school in Maipú, in vacation of 2017.

I had a full month of practice 3 times a week, I had all the classes a round of 45 minutes with an instructor in the car, where he took me to more dangerous places and taught me techniques to improve. Sometimes I did it quite well, but sometimes I was very wrong. I remember once he took me to a street with a very steep slope and the challenge was that the car would not stop while climbing and braking. At the beginning it was difficult, but then I knew the technique, I also remember that my top of the foot hurt me a lot.
Then I got my driver's license. It was a very good experience, though my dad does not lend me the car yet, but I can say that I know how to drive.

About a topic that I liked this semester

The Tutorial Action as a Training Experience for the Integral Development of Students.

Hello everyone, today I will talk about a CFG (general training course) that I had this semester, called "The Tutorial Action as a Training Experience for the Integral Development of Students".

During the 5 years of the race we have to do 3 CFG. This semester I decided to do this CFG because the name caught my attention and I wanted to learn a little more about the TIP tutorials (pair of integral tutoring).

First I will explain a little about what is a TIP tutoring. It's a program of the University of Chile, implemented since 2013, which has a main focus to accompany first-year students in the insertion to university life, since it is a big change to move from high school to university. This support goes both academically and strengthen an academic base and also improve social skills, as well as solve their doubts about university life. This program was implemented, since the University of Chile wanted to reach the entire Chilean population, for people who enter by special admission, so that everyone can study, enter this university and also stay, as it is more difficult.

In the CFG, I learned theoretical processes of how to be a good tutor, differences between a tutor, assistant and teacher. I learned about the limits one must have with students, about study skills, knowing the wide variety of students and taking into account sociocultural situations. We also talked about how to structure and plan a good tutoring.

Although it sounds boring, they were very didactic and entertaining classes. I thought there would be more theoretical and general classes, but this course surprised me, we analyzed the cases in groups, we talked and we shared a lot with people from other faculties and careers, it was a very enriching experience.

Finally, I can say that I liked it a lot, I would like to be a TIP tutor in the future and share my experience with more people.

First woman to graduate in Chemistry and Pharmacy

María Griselda Hinojosa Flores

Hello, welcome to blog number 7, today I have to write about someone in my professional field that I admire. It is a difficult issue, since I admire the work of many people, choosing only one is complicated, but I made this decision regarding the social context that is taking place today in my country.

Griselda Hinojosa.jpgMaría Griselda Hinojosa Flores, was the first woman to graduate from Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Chile. He received his professional title on December 4, 1899. He was born in Copiapó on April 20, 1875. At the beginning of the 20th century, together with Percival Rojas, they led the "Copiapó Botica y Drugstore.

This was a first step for women to start studying, at that time it was very difficult for women to study because of machismo and the few opportunities they had.

At present, the arrival of feminism that seeks equality is being lived, this woman was the inspiration for many others who also studied chemistry and pharmacy, broke the paradigm that women could not study or were not able. That's why I admire her, for having the courage to overcome the macho prejudices of the time, to get ahead, thanks to this I think that if María studied chemistry and pharmacy, all women could also do it.

The Truth or Feeling Good?

The Truth or Feeling Good?

Hello again, now I will write about whether I prefer the truth or feeling good, in the sense of if I prefer to hide the truth to feel good. I think it's a very philosophical question, but it's something everyday in life.

I feel that sometimes people can be very false and lie daily to look good and not offend others, I think it's okay to always tell the truth, however painful it may be. I prefer that they always tell me the truth, at least I always go with the truth ahead.

In the same way, it depends on the situation, it can happen that the truth is very painful, but I prefer the truth, in order to overcome it. Only depends on the form of tell the situation.

we need accepting the truth, know ourselves and face prejudices. Sometime we can receive a truth that can hurt us, but that serves to improve, to be able to see in what we are mistaken so as not to make the same mistake again.

These experiences will also help us face more difficult situations, overcome a painful truth can leave many lessons and we can learn to be stronger for the next time we receive some bad news.

Finally, regardless of the degree of the situation, I prefer the truth, it is always better to know, especially of the people who love you around you.

Chemistry in the Health

My Future Profession: "Chemisthy in Health"

Discovering what to study was really a challenge. I always liked chemistry and it's relation to health, but I could not find the indicated career. When I took the PSU for a second time, I made a decision and I went to study Chemistry and Pharmacy in the University of Chile. I discovered that this career was directly related with the health and that's what I was looking for.

I always wanted to dedicate my life to something that can help people, society and to contribute, here I think that can do it. For this reason I think it's special. It's important for me to educate people, about the medicines they consume, about their health, which is something so everyday.

Besides that, I love chemistry, I was excited by the idea of playing with chemicals in a laboratory, knowing more about that and wearing a white apron. My dream is to continue learning, contribute to society and be able to be a crazy chemistry.

My Unforgettable Holidays

Traveling across the South of Chile.

The last year, mi big sister changed from Coquimbo to Puerto Aysén. She is the mother of my two nephews that I love so much. It was very hard when he moved, since it is more than 1700 kilometers from my house, it isn't easy to visit her.

In October of last year with my parents we plan to go see them on vacation. We decided to travel by car, it was very hard planning, since we had to travel part by road and another part by sea, on a ferry, the main thing was to know the austral highway.

Santa Lucía after the alluvium

We had everything ready to travel on January 14, 2018, but on December 16, 2017 there was a alluvion in Santa Lucia, south of Chaitén. T
his natural catastrophe complicated our trip, because the highway closed in 6 kilometers, where we had to get across to Aysén.
We waited to date and had to cross that part of the road cut by sea.

On January 14 with my parents we started the trip for a month to see my sister and nephews. The travel lasted four days. We traveled 1034 km to Puerto Montt, then by sea to Chaitén. there we wait a day to take other ferry up to Raul Marin Balcamaceda. Then we travel 330 kilometers with a ferry in between until we finally reached our destination, the landscape is incredible.

The trip was nice, I arrived until to Puerto Rio Tranquilo, I visited the Catedrál de Mármol, Bahía Acantilada, the Queulat, among many other places, it was exciting to know the Chilean Patagonia, to be surrounded by nature and animals, especially full of Chucaos which is a very common bird in the south.

It was the first vacation I enjoy so much with my family, the longest and the ones I remember best.

My Little Autobiography

My Little Autobiography

Hi, this is a little autobiography, I born in Providencia, Santiago but grew up in the borough of Maipú. I Have always lived in the same house. I Like to play the guitar, listen to music, sleep, watch movies and series.
When I was a girl, I study in the college "República de Guatemala" that it was one block from my house, then I changed to the high school "San Pedro Poveda"until finishing my secondary education. When I took the PSU for the fist time I was selected at the University of Santiago in biochemistry but I was afraid to go in and I waited a year.

After a year of finishing my studies, I decided to study chemistry and pharmacy in the University of Chile. I'm currently in the second year of this major and I'm happy where I am.
