The Tutorial Action as a Training Experience for the Integral Development of Students.
Hello everyone, today I will talk about a CFG (general training course) that I had this semester, called "The Tutorial Action as a Training Experience for the Integral Development of Students".
During the 5 years of the race we have to do 3 CFG. This semester I decided to do this CFG because the name caught my attention and I wanted to learn a little more about the TIP tutorials (pair of integral tutoring).
First I will explain a little about what is a TIP tutoring. It's a program of the University of Chile, implemented since 2013, which has a main focus to accompany first-year students in the insertion to university life, since it is a big change to move from high school to university. This support goes both academically and strengthen an academic base and also improve social skills, as well as solve their doubts about university life. This program was implemented, since the University of Chile wanted to reach the entire Chilean population, for people who enter by special admission, so that everyone can study, enter this university and also stay, as it is more difficult.
In the CFG, I learned theoretical processes of how to be a good tutor, differences between a tutor, assistant and teacher. I learned about the limits one must have with students, about study skills, knowing the wide variety of students and taking into account sociocultural situations. We also talked about how to structure and plan a good tutoring.
Although it sounds boring, they were very didactic and entertaining classes. I thought there would be more theoretical and general classes, but this course surprised me, we analyzed the cases in groups, we talked and we shared a lot with people from other faculties and careers, it was a very enriching experience.
Finally, I can say that I liked it a lot, I would like to be a TIP tutor in the future and share my experience with more people.
